The reason : and consistent failure of 'tech'..
finding a better way to 'instruct' a machine...
from mechanical..
it became relays and motors...
controlled by keyboard/app

but the 'interaction' : scales at limits of 'human hands / eyes' and 'language'.

maybe : the bottleneck is how we interact with tech..
not decisions/chocies
but our definition of 'work' : a computer, a keyboard and a black window.

HCI : Human Compueter Interaction : at core of it all

can we do better than a touch screen palm and thumb ?

i think we can : there are 10 of them..with sensory feedback. 😀
