...u got to understand what was transaction cost of 'visa' or any other merchant..
Domestic Visa Transactions: Typically costs merchants between 1.5% to 2.5% of the transaction value (often structured as a percentage plus a small fixed fee, e.g., 1.5% to 2%+GST

it was global masons - earning for doing - 'nothing'.
selling ur 'data' to insurance firms..
with telco firms - already selling 'identity', hence spam calls...

google is known to hore customer data..
which 'sells' - globally.

the complete picture of any customer..
just fragmented across various - sellers.

practically - we are indians..
..we would do 'jugaad' - 10 = 1999x 5 UPI transactions..
or other smart - cash x upi

this is really a transaction cost for organized - bizznesses..
who were benefiting from UPI - by bypassing visa/credit cards.

though - this move to tax UPI transactions - is not 'ideal'..
but i guess - if we got to go 'global'..
den we have to implement 'transaction' fees - to scale..
and provide some 'protection' from fraud.
