about - jobs and layoffs...due to 'ai'..
...or the misguided thoths : which sell it as > human.
...it is how we view things - or want things to be.
the 'value' part of it : is quite nihilistic over last few years..
..products were manufactured - in factory of the world..
and 'brands' - scaled for - uniformity or - less of klass of dem.
phones : are a good example..
iphone : is expensive and remains dere : coz it no longer a 'phone'..
it is part of 'identity' : a page 3 jezebelle world.
since 1971 : we have been following a version of nihilism, which focussed on defining humans by what dey own.
if we zoom out...
what happened : our 'habits' were altered..
and we agreed on few ideas - phone and tech of dem.
right now : that 'agreement' is under a lot of questions..
people dont like - pay as you go model : for 'tools'..
if 'ai' is supposed to be a 'tool'..
den ownership of that 'tool' : is what makes it different from tools of traidional past.
what i am trying to say..
we are at a sweet point in 'time'..
where 'big tech's ideas and 'money' required to use dem..
is painted as 'compulsary' : yet a dependency.
I think we need solutions : which makes 'ai' into a - tool'..
and scale it like 1 ..
rather than unaccountable use of 'ai' in datacenters : where the 'value' of datacenters..
seems much of govt or global need for 'control' - citizens and 'actions' of dem.
a tool - helps.
i think new jobs : would be in building or deploying - solutions which work with 'ai'..
to make software which scales for all of us..
a world : where 'startups' or family / small business : would need 'ai' to compete..
..yet with solutions : software/hardware of it : which provides 'value' to their independent new - business.
lot of opportunities..
It is a different sales model..
and a challenging 1 : coz lot of it deals with de-glorification of this word - software engineer..
or the tech boi - worship.
much challenge : lies in 'why' dese companies - became big enough : to define 'progress' or 'standards' of 'controlled - innovation'...
behind the glorious stories of middkle klass bois : rising to 'top' by garage hardwork etx..
...dey were covert cia / usa operations : to will people into depending on few player of their own making : to gather 'data'..
basically spying on hole world - to control it.
u can image : the kind of money which went into making dese - monopolies.
I think india needs its own 'apple'...
yet the ambition to do it - is lacking..
in belief and in intents.
but meanwhile : i share my 'regrets' with indi 90s : leadersheep : none of dem have stomach to make that 'bet' or mind to 'imagine'
further thoughts...
the iphone thing - it is about 'software engineers'..
a class of dem - a reorganization of the 'art of engineering'..
coz few products - are mission critical..
u ll always need a cream of engineers : working on mission critical things..
but that is passion...
and what we have is engineering as commodity..
ai is a commodity for engineers of commodity ..
i think the de-glorification of this 'profession' - would happen now - organically...
rather than the 'glam' and 'money' which tilted the natural balance of it.
