about alternatives to microsoft google and others..
zoho : as told by hon. IT minister : is a cloud service : which is excellent
it is straight up replacement of ms productivity tools
My main use of zoho : is email server.
rest for all - linux - debian or any other flavor u likey..
has libreoffice : which takes some getting used to..
but i likey the native app : and it works better for me.
The main think which i have in mind : self hosted ai box
the idea is simple : and others are free to take a shot at it..
just sharing it for 'innovation'
i call it aibox.
on face of it : it is likey any standard linux box..
which hosts all the software : as needed by users
it is a multiuser box...which caters to each and every member of family
standard off the shelf hardware..
a fast processor
a graphics card..
...all the hardware which u can need
the box would have a cloud image : backed up regularly..
which can be spun up : in case aibox is down or needs upgrades.
storage : can be as generous as peeps want : upgradeable.
the idea is to provide seemless app experiance to end user..
at a fixed : non variable : 1 time cost (apart from cloud stuff)
the aibox : doubles up as home entertainment device..
coz that gpu : can work as tv as well as steam gaming machine..
the design of aibox : that is where 'apple-ness' lies..
and thats where i am at..
u are welcome to make or try it on your own...
linux has a bit of learning curve..
but jugaad based indian mindset : can make impossible happen.
that would be the bigger quest : i no likey reliance or single point of failure
100% uptime: with redundancy of connectivity or boxes : as needed.
bonus : it can hold your complete telephoney stack..
...thats where the kicker is...and surprise of it all...
the quest : is to makey it seemless and natural : simple.
baldies : thats the arcade and game of it..
telling u out in open : compete if u can.
this project : start in few months : u have a headstart till den.
this is an engineers' quest : not balded old googley kuks' cope.
