with some 'free software'..
for legal reasons..
android soc : maybe cheaper ...
more functional
but 'control' of that chip...what it does with all the cpu cycles..
and how 'black' of 'box' it is.
though, from end users' perspective : both can do each other..
either by containers
or by 'start' applications - control of them
the problem with soc : they provide hidden apis' : to cap the functionality
the hidden funtionality : sold to state, pullice, global masters etx.
