My real love for 'java' comes from its 1st forced mass adoption - android
to me - as a former rom cooker...

i fail to see how phones 'improved'...
on technical side - the entire 'sandbox' java thing - is just a gimmick...
i think the real sandboxing happens via cgroups and inherent linux controls.
from technical view - the entire java middleware thing ...is a huge bloat.
android 5 - seemed to be epitome of it - the mature version of android..
and then...they started ducking it...
with 6 onwards - apps were aware of permissions denied..
and internet permission became 'default' for all...
the propriety soc thing disguised as open source - apace..
only saved by gpl2 of kernel...
since then...it all this screen++ and g++ thing..
and phones became tv/media/prono etx..

what makes android updates so 'elusive' and compulsory?
surely its not the kernel...its the least glued part of it..
i think its all the javaness of it - the bloat which hides the mediocrity of it all...
the idea - which is not an idea but a dependence
which is not even 'convenient' anymore 6.7" of it..
