A timeless read - "The Cathedral and the Bazaar" : OG Eric S. Raymond.

It is relevant to the times we live in. It seems like the same cycle is repeating itself in money/capitalism as it happened in technology just few decades back.

BRICS can be considered "Bazaar" (the word is literally from 1 of the countries)

vs

FedNow - a WEF "good"/progressive/paperless metaverse, neuralink, ai spouse world

Both would appeal to some.

"Bazaar" won in tech.

Would the same happen would this time too?

This is one of those gems which are too good to be "free"

A "win" really is a compromise...Big tech flourished despite open source and its virtual monopoly in mission critical apps

But it is really about balance - FAANG weaponized open source.

Android is a living, breating example of somthing transforming from a tool to a privacy beast which destroys peace of mind of its users - day by day, without they even realizing it

My sypathies for DEVS who license their work as "Apache" or some other "psy/op" license. GPL was supposed to make ppl free...and it did for ppl who understand it - android still being salvagable by anyone is an example of GPL Kernel - forced them

FedNow repeats the same pattern - commercial software is essentially making ppl dependent on something "artificial" and "controlling" for their need for "safety" and "genius" of ppl who sign on "sales" decisions

Fear dint vanish, it only changed shape - money made it happen.

-It works when money is "artificial"
