The path of technology innovation over the last quarter-century is littered with monumental concepts that captured corporate boardrooms, sucked in billions of dollars in venture and telecom funding, and promised to change the worldβonly to completely vanish, get absorbed, or crash entirely.
Tracking these post-Y2K trends offers an excellent playbook on market timing, execution risk, and why technological "superiority" rarely beats structural ecosystem alignment.
